This specimen was lot 1112 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it sold for $390. The catalog description[1] noted, "PORTUGAL: João VI, 1816-1826, AE 10 reis, 1819, lovely even chocolate toning, PCGS graded MS62 BN, ex Joe Sedillot Collection." This type was struck 1818-24 and, like most Portuguese predecimal copper coins, is rare in nice condition.
Recorded mintage: 806,000, the most common date.
Specification: 12.7 g, copper, 36 mm diameter.
