This specimen was lot 23598 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it sold for $960. The catalog description[1] noted, "PORTUGAL. 200 Reis, 1809. Joao as Prince Regent. NGC MS-61. A must have coin for the collector of pre-decimal Portuguese coinage given its splendid state of preservation. Good strike, nicely toned with strong underlying soft satin luster." In 1809, he was still enjoying the tropical delights of Rio de Janiero and resisting the cortés' demand that he return.
