This specimen was lot 1577 in Jean Elsen sale 136 (Brussels, March 2018), where it sold for €420 (about US$617 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"PORTUGAL, Maria et Pedro III (1777-1786), AV escudo (1600 reis), 1784, Lisbonne. D/ B. accolés à d. R/ Armes couronnées. Rare Rogné. Très Beau. (kingdom of Portugal, Maria and Peter III, 1777-86, gold escudo of 1784, Lisbon mint. Obverse: accolated busts to right; reverse: crowned arms. Rare, clipped, very fine.)"
This type is noted for 1778-85. On Peter's death in 1786, his portrait was deleted.
