This specimen was lot 1537 in Sincona sale 90 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 1,500 CHF (about US$1,982 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"PORTUGAL Königreich, Jose I. 1750-1777. 1/2 Peça (3200 Reis) 1768, Lissabon. Selten. Fast sehr schön. Henkel- und Tragespuren. (kingdom of Portugal, Joseph I, 1750-77, half gold piece or 3200 réis of 1768, Lisbon mint. Rare, About very fine, Mount mark and traces of wear.)"
This type was struck 1751, 1768 and 1772-76. All the dates are scarce. The king's name is always spelled "JOSEPHUS" on this denomination.
