This specimen was lot 1538 in Sincona sale 90 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 1,100 CHF (about US$1,454 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"PORTUGAL Königreich, Jose I. 1750-1777. Quartinho (1000 Reis) 1768, Lissabon. Selten. Gutes sehr schön. Leicht justiert. (kingdom of Portugal, Joseph I, 1750-77, quarter moidore or 1000 réis of 1768, Lisbon mint. Rare, Good very fine, Minor adjustment marks.)"
This type was struck 1752 and 1768-69. The king's name spelled "IOSEPHUS" or "JOSEPHUS" (shown here) on this denomination.
