This specimen was lot 12457 in Ponterio sale 177 (Chicago, August 2013), where it sold for $5,581. The catalog description[1] noted, "PORTUGAL. 6,400 Reis (Peca), 1747. NGC MS-64. João V. Frosty mint luster, nice strike." This type was struck 1723-50 but is seldom seen compared to similar coins that were struck in Brazil.
