This specimen was lot 25304 in Heritage sale 3019 (Chicago, April 2012), where it sold for $3,737.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "João V gold Peca (6400 Reis) 1745, MS62 NGC, fully lustrous with minimal handling in the obverse fields, rare early type in mint state." This type was struck 1723-50 but is seldom seen compared to similar coins that were struck in Brazil.

Specification: 14.34 g, 0.917 fine gold, .423 troy oz AGW, 30 mm diameter.
