This specimen was lot 12458 in Ponterio sale 177 (Chicago, August 2013), where it sold for $822. The catalog description[1] noted, "PORTUGAL. 2 Escudo, 1741. NGC VF-35. João V (1706-50)." Altho catalogued here and in the SCWC as a two escudos, this coin is more accurately titled a 3200 réis or half a peça. Like similar issues from Brazil (Fr-47), it is much rarer than the larger 6400 réis.
