This specimen was lot 58162 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $576. The catalog description[1] noted, "PORTUGAL. 2000 Reis, 1709. Lisbon Mint. Joao V. NGC AU Details--Damaged. From the Collection of Jacques Benuzillo (1899-1964)." This meia moeda was struck in Lisbon 1707-18, 1721 and 1725, after which this denomination was struck only in Brazil.
