SB626-11116r.jpg

This specimen was lot 11116 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Copenhagen, June 2026), where it sold for €89 (about US$103). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. Pomerania. 1/12 Taler, 1767-LDS. Stralsund Mint. Adolf Fredrik. NGC EF-40. From the L.E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck 1763 and 1767-68 along with a 1/48 thaler, 1/24 thaler, 1/3 thaler and 2/3 thaler. It is fairly common, suggesting that it was struck for several years with a frozen date. Sweden ceded her last holdings in Pomerania to Prussia at the Congress of Vienna in 1815.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.50 g, silver, 22 mm diameter, this specimen 3.19 g.

Catalog reference: KM-419; SB-256b; Delzanno-260; Bruun-13067.
