Pomerania 1633 thaler Dav-7282
This specimen was lot 347 in Sincona Auction 103 (Zürich, May 2026), where it sold for 2,250 CHF (about US$3,429 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND Pommern, Bogislaus XIV. 1620-1637. Taler 1633, Stettin. Selten. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. Hübsche Patina. (Germany, duchy of Pomerania, Bogislav XIV, 1620-37, thaler of 1633, Stettin mint. Rare, Very Fine-Extremely Fine, Attractively toned.)"
Bogislav was the last of the native dynasts to rule Pomerania. After his death, Sweden and Brandenburg fought over the duchy as a side dispute of the Thirty Years War and eventually agreed to partition it by the Peace of Westphalia of 1648.
