This specimen was struck in 1957-85 for Poland. Most were made in Warsaw with a few produced in Kremnica, Hungary. Communist rule in Poland, established in the wake of the Russian army in 1945, collapsed in 1989 with the fall of the Berlin Wall. This coin matches the postwar Japanese yen in weight, composition and diameter.
