This specimen was lot 5268 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €1,200 (about US$1,570 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"POLEN, KÖNIGREICH, Stanislaus August, 1764-1795. 8 Silbergroschen (Doppelgulden) 1768, FS, Warschau. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Winz. Schrötlingsfehler, vorzüglich/Stempelglanz. (kingdom of Poland, Stanislaus Augustus, 1764-95, eight silver groschen or double gulden of 1768, Warsaw mint. Scarce in this quality, minor rim flaws, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1766-82. Stanislas August Poniatowski was the last king of independent Poland. One thaler = 8 złotych = 32 groszy.
