This piso was struck for the visit of pope Paul VI to the Philippines in 1970. It was hoarded and is common today. The currency was reformed in 1967 and all the World War era coinage struck in the USA was demonetized.

Recorded mintage: 30,000 plus 70,000 in nickel plus 1,000 in gold.

Specification: 26.45 g, 0.900 fine silver, 38.3 mm diameter.
