Philippines 1958 50 centavos

Struck at the United States mint in 1958 and 1964 for the Philippines. This type was accompanied by one, five, ten and twenty-five centavos which used the old commonwealth designs but were struck in base metal. Worn specimens fill dealer junk boxes but nice uncirculated examples are hard to find, being too cheap for dealers to stock. This type superseded the old silver fifty centavos of 1944-45.

Recorded mintage: 5,000,000.

Specification: 10 g, copper-zinc-nickel, reeded edge, 30.3 mm diameter.
