This specimen was lot 43819 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2019), where it sold for $1,440. The catalog description[1] noted, "PHILIPPINES. Quarto, 1835-MA F. PCGS VF-25 Gold Shield. Our first offering in recent years of this RARE one year type struck for Isabella II. Small planchet clip at two o'clock mentioned for accuracy. Uneven strike but most of the details are clear. Full four digit date with complete lion and arms of Spain. A handsome example with nice patina and a good look. From the Ray Czahor Collection." The Manila mint, little better than a smithy prior to the 1860's, struck a series of copper issues in the 1820's and 1830's. They are not particularly rare but very difficult to find in collectible condition being crudely made and harshly used.
