Pfalz 1764-S ducat Fr-2035
This specimen was lot 1555 in Künker Auction 425 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €12,000 (about US$16,992 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

GOLD. Von großer Seltenheit. Hübsche Goldpatina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Germany, electorate of the Palatinate, Charles Theodore, 1743-99, ducat of 1764, Mannheim mint. Bust right, initial below; reverse: capped oval manifold arms, order chain around. Extremely rare, handsome gold patina, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This type was struck 1764 only; another ducat of the year, Fr-2037, celebrated gold from the Rhine. Carl Theodor went on to become elector of Bavaria.
