Pfalz 1767-S ducat Fr-2037
This specimen was lot 3789 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €2,600 (about US$3,359 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"PFALZ, KURFÜRSTENTUM Karl Theodor, 1743-1799. Dukat 1767, Mannheim. Rheingold. GOLD. Fast vorzüglich. (Germany, electorate of Pfalz, Charles Theodore, 1743-99, ducat of 1767, Mannheim mint, struck from Rhine gold. Choice extremely fine.)"
Another issue of 1764 is also catalogued as Fr-2037 but has a substantially different reverse. The SCWC correctly gives it a different number. Carl Theodor went on to become elector of Bavaria.
