This specimen was lot 23652 in Heritage sale 3030 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $3,818.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Pfalz-Sulzbach (Electoral). Carl Theodor gold Ducat 1764-AS, MS62 PCGS, fully lustrous with subtle original toning, a choice example of this type featuring a panoramic river view of the City of Mannheim." Another scarce type from 1762-64, made from gold panned from the Rhine. Carl Theodor went on to become elector of Bavaria.
