This type, issued 1974-78 from Lima, reflects the accelerating pace of inflation which devastated Peru in the late 1970's and 1980's. This denomination was issued to honor two pioneers of aviation in Peru, Jorge Chavez and José Quiñones. It is not quite big enough to count as a peso but was hoarded anyway.
