This specimen was lot 41146 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2026), where it sold for $3,360. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU. 50 Soles, 1964-LIMA. Lima Mint. NGC MS-66. A lofty specimen that is tied with just two others, this Superb Gem resounds fully with lustrous brilliance and golden-yellow hues." This denomination, struck 1950-69, was theoretically a circulating coin but actually was a bullion piece like her sisters, the gold five, ten, twenty and hundred soles.

Recorded mintage: 2,425.

Specification: 23.405 g, 0.900 fine gold, .677 troy oz AGW.
