This type was struck at Lima 1828-40 and at Cuzco 1830-34 and is rather common; the complete span of Peru standing liberty eight reales runs 1825-55. Assayer B is recorded for the Cuzco mint 1832-35. The issues of 1834-35 from Cuzco are scarce. The first specimen was lot 1274 in Sedwick sale 25 (Winter Park, FL, May 2019), where it sold for $142.80. The catalog description[1] noted, "Cuzco, Peru, 8 reales, 1833BoAr. VF+ with light toning and luster, minor marks, typically weak central details."
Recorded mintage: unknown but a somewhat better date.
Specification: 27.07 g, 0.903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW, the first specimen 26.70 grams.
