This specimen was lot 40308 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $1,058. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU. 2 Escudos, 1820-JP. VERY FINE/EXTREMELY FINE." While eight escudos from Peru are reasonably available for a price, the small gold denominations are all very rare.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 6.77 g, 0.875 fine gold, .190 troy oz AGW.
