This specimen was lot 2110 in Sedwick Auction 37 (Winter Park, FL, May 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU, Lima, pillar ½ real, Ferdinand VI, 1760 JM, very rare, ex-O'Brien. Final year for the type and issued posthumously. Fine with plugged hole at top. Pedigreed to the John O'Brien Collection, with his tag." This type, the first milled half real of Peru, was struck for Ferdinand VI 1752-60. It is not rare but many of the dates are very scarce compared to their Mexican equivalents. Half reales were also struck for Charles III in 1760.

Recorded mintage: unknown.
