This specimen was lot 1875 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 39 (Winter Park, FL, May 2026), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU, Lima, cob 1 real, 1721 M, ex-Ugaz. Solid VF with bold pillars and partial cross, clear date, flat peripheries with crude edges. Pedigreed to the Jorge Ugaz Collection." This type was struck 1701-28 for the Bourbon king Philip V, with an interruption in 1725 for the short reign of his son Luis I. Assayer Melgarejo ("M") stamped his coins 1709-27. In 1728, the cobs were debased from 0.931 fine to 0.917 fine silver.
