This specimen was lot 48 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 28 (Winter Park, FL, November 2020), where it sold for $4,500. The catalog description[1] noted, "Lima, Peru, cob 2 escudos, 1697/6H. Polished (ex-jewelry) VF with bold full cross and pillars (clear overdate), much legend, contrasting black sediment in crevices. Pedigreed to the Jesus Vico auction of March 2018 (lot #972)." This type is noted for 1696-1701 altho the SCWC does not mention this overdate.
