Papal States (1484-92) grosso Ber-513
This specimen was lot 1284 in Künker sale 403 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €2,800 (about US$3,674 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"PAPST INNOCENZ VIII., 1484-1492. Die Münzstätte Macerata. Grosso o. J., Macerata. Mit Münzzeichen Wappensymbol A+ (Antonio Migliori) auf der Rückseite. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtexemplar mit feiner Tönung. Vorzüglich. Exemplar der Spezialsammlung Münzen und Medaillen der Päpste, Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 233, Osnabrück 2013, Nr. 1139. (Papal States, Innocent VIII, 1484-92, undated grosso, Macerata mint, with mintmaster's privy mark A+ on the reverse. Very scarce in this quality, cabinet example with fine toning, extremely fine.)"
This is the only grosso Innocent VIII had struck at the Macerata mint, which also struck a fiorino di camera (Fr-402). Note the "MACE" in the exergue.
