Panama 1982 centesimo
This denomination was struck for circulation in 1961-62 and 1966-87. It matches the United States cent in every respect and many dates were actually struck in the USA. This year was made in West Point, New York. This specimen was lot 30156 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $3,600. The catalog description[1] noted, "PANAMA. Gold Piefort Centesimo, 1982. NGC PROOF-67 Ultra Cameo. Struck in 0.400 gold. Estimated Mintage: 15. Presenting delicate frosted devices set against mirrorlike fields, this double-thick gold RARITY will generate much interest when it crosses the auction block."

Specification: regular issue: 3.11 g, bronze, 19.05 mm diameter, plain edge. KM-P1: 0.400 fine gold.
