Sincona sale 26, lot 2745

This specimen was lot 2745 in Sincona sale 26 (Zürich, October 2015), where it sold for 7,750 CHF (about US$9,573 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Nurnberg, Taler 1706. Sehr selten. Prachtvolle Erhaltung. FDC. Kabinettstück mit herrlicher Patina (Germany, city of Nurnberg, thaler of 1706. Very rare, extraordinary example, choice uncirculated, cabinet toning.)"

This one year type issued in the name of Joseph I is rare in all grades.
