This specimen was lot 25524 in Heritage sale 3032 (Chicago, April 2014), where it sold for $3,671.88. The catalog description[1] noted, "Oscar I Speciedaler 1855, MS61 NGC. Lightly toned with no marks of individual distinction atop the surfaces. Very scarce at the Mint State tier." This type, recorded for 1846-57, is now scarce. It was struck to the Danish standard (Dav-75) rather than the larger Swedish riksdaler (Dav-354).

Recorded mintage: 148,000.

Specification: 28.89 g, 0.875 fine silver, .812 troy oz ASW.
