This specimen was lot 22369 in Heritage sale 3021 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $1,292.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Oscar I of Sweden Speciedaler 1857, AU53 NGC, a nice lustrous example with considerable mint luster, very scarce type in this quality." This type, recorded for 1846-57, is now scarce. It was struck to the Danish standard (Dav-75) rather than the larger Swedish riksdaler (Dav-356).

Recorded mintage: 160,000.

Specification: 28.89 g, 0.875 fine silver, .812 troy oz ASW.
