This specimen was lot 3552 in Stephen Album sale 38 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2020), where it sold for $565.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY: Oscar I, 1844-1859, AR 12 skilling, 1853, shimmering lustrous surface, NGC graded MS62." This type, struck 1850-56, is near the end of a denomination first issued in 1819. It was worth one tenth of a specie daler. This specimen sold for five times the catalog value.

Recorded mintage: 360,000.

Specification: 2.89 g, 0.875 fine silver, 20 mm diameter, reeded edge.
