This specimen was lot 70269 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2020), where it sold for $480. The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY. 12 Skilling, 1720-HCM. Frederik IV. NGC MS-60. Difficult to encounter without at least some evidence of circulation and handling, this piece presents a charming toning and some muted brilliance. The only example listed in the NGC census." Despite being minted in large quantities 1717-24, this type is scarce in nice condition. Other coins struck in 1720 include a one skilling (KM 205) and two skilling (KM 218). Norway passed from Danish to Swedish rule in 1814.
