This specimen was lot 11074 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €456 (about US$475). The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY. 2 Skilling, 1668. Christiania mint. Frederik III. NGC MS-62. Beautifully preserved and toned. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck 1668-70 and is common. Both the SCWC and Numista state that the weight was slightly reduced but the claim is not corroborated by the weight of this example. It was the first new design of two skilling since KM 30 was introduced in 1649. A related type (KM 82, with the lion on a shield), was also struck 1667-68 and is very rare. One specie daler was six mark or 96 skilling.

Recorded mintage: 491,000 (KM 82 and KM 85).

Specification: 1.22 g, 0.281 fine silver, 18.5 mm diameter, this specimen 1.51 g.
