This specimen was lot 575 in Künker sale 400 (Berlin, February 2024), where it sold for €75,000 (about US$97,298 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"NORWEGEN, KÖNIGREICH, Frederik III. 1648-1670. 2 Speciedaler 1668, Christiania. Münzmeister Frederik Grüner. FRIDERIC : 3 · D : G · DAN : NOR : VAN : GOT · REX Geharnischtes Brustbild r. mit Lorbeerkranz//· DOMINUS - PROVIDEBIT · Ovales Wappen (Gekrönter Löwe mit gebogener Hellebarde) auf Kreuz, oben Krone, zu den Seiten die geteilte Münzmeistersignatur F - G, unten die Jahreszahl a 1668 a. GOLD. Von allergrößter Seltenheit. Sehr attraktives Exemplar mit feiner Tönung, fast vorzüglich. Exemplar der Sammlungen Martin Petersen, Helge Reff und Per E. Rui. (kingdom of Norway, Frederick III, 1648-70, double specie daler of 1668, Christiania (Oslo) mint. Obverse: armored and laureate bust right; reverse: oval arms of a crowned lion holding a halberd over a cross, crown above, date and initails below. Supremely rare, very attractive example with fine toning, about extremely fine.)

This type was also struck in 1667. A single specie daler (KM 83/Dav-3625) and triple specie daler (KM 79/Dav-A3622) also exist.
