This specimen was lot 20522 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), where it sold for $1,380. The catalog description[1] noted, "Newfoundland. Victoria gold 2 Dollars 1888, MS63 NGC, sharp design features with full mint brilliance, very scarce quality." This type was struck for Newfoundland in limited numbers 1865-88 and is fairly available in circulated condition. This date is common.
