This specimen was lot 1686 in Stephen Album sale 32 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2018), where it sold for $211.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "NEW ZEALAND: George V, 1910-1936, AR ½ crown, 1934, NGC graded MS64." Coinage was first struck for New Zealand in 1933 and this type, struck 1933-35, quickly proved popular, being issued until the end of sterling coinage in 1965. The denomination was converted to copper-nickel in 1947. Most of the silver issues are expensive in high grade.
Recorded mintage: 2,750,000 plus 20 proofs.
