Netherlands 1942-P cent

from the Enschede Collection

This brass cent was issued by Philadelphia mint for the Dutch government-in-exile 1943-43 for her colony of Suriname. The SCWC files this under Curaçao but Schulman catalogs this as a homeland type. The bronze issue is fairly common but a few were issued in brass.

Recorded mintage: 2,500,000.

Specification: 2.5 g, bronze, 19 mm diameter.
