This type, struck 1898-1909, features the "coronation head" of queen Wilhelmina. On her coronation in 1898, the regency ended and she assumed full powers of the throne. This bust was used on all the silver and gold denominations from the ten cents to the ten gulden. This specimen was lot 1354 in Jean Elsen sale 123 (Brussels, December 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"NEDERLAND, Koninkrijk, Wilhelmina (1890-1948), AR 1 gulden, 1906. Zeldzaam. Krasjes. Zeer Fraai à Prachtig. (kingdom of the Netherlands, Wilhelmina (1890-1948), silver gulden of 1906. Rare, scratches, very fine to extremely fine.)"

Recorded mintage: 500,000 (the key date).

Specification: 10 g, 0.945 fine silver, 28 mm diameter, lettered edge.
