Netherlands 1832 1/2 cent

from the Enschede Collection

This type was struck in Utrecht and Brussels 1818-37 for William I. The 1832 is common. After Belgium obtained her independence in 1830, the Brussels mint continued striking for the new country while the Utrecht mint operates to this day for the Dutch government. The type was struck with little change 1841-77 but reduced in weight in 1878.
