Netherlands 1826 25 cents
This specimen was lot 1536 in Jean Elsen sale 121 (Brussels, June 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"NEDERLAND, Koninkrijk, Willem I (1815-1840), AR 25 cents, 1826, Utrecht. Prachtig à FDC. (kingdom of the Netherlands, William I (1815-40), silver twenty-five cents of 1826, Utrecht mint. Extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This type was struck in Utrecht and Brussels 1817-30. The 1826 is common. After Belgium obtained her independence in 1830, the Brussels mint continued striking for the new country while the Utrecht mint operates to this day for the Dutch government.
