Sincona sale 20, lot 3083

This specimen was lot 3083 in Sincona sale 20 (Zürich, October 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "1/2 Gulden 1819. Selten. Gutes sehr schön. (rare, good very fine.)" This type was struck in Utrecht 1818-22 and Brussels 1829-30. All dates are rare. After Belgium obtained her independence in 1830, the Brussels mint continued striking for the new country and is still in operation.

Recorded mintage: 43,342.

Specification: 5.383 g, .893 fine silver, .154 troy oz ASW, 24 mm diameter. This specimen is 5.35 g.
