This specimen was lot 2018 in Goldberg sale 115 (Los Angeles, February 2020), where it sold for $408. The catalog description[1] noted, "Nepal. Asarphi, VS2060- 2003. Commemorating the Conquest of Mt. Everest. PCGS graded Proof 67 Deep Cameo." Climbing Mt. Everest has become a major industry and generator of foreign exchange for the poverty stricken kingdom (now republic) of Nepal.
Recorded mintage: 2,000.
Specification: 7.77 g, 0.999 fine gold, 0.250 troy oz AGW, 22 mm diameter.
