This specimen was lot 1836 in Goldberg sale 112 (Los Angeles, September 2019), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "Nepal. Asarphi (1983). 30th Anniversary Ascent of Mt. Everest. In original box with certificate of authenticity number 172. Choice Brilliant Proof." Climbing Mt. Everest has become a major industry and generator of foreign exchange for the poverty stricken kingdom (now republic) of Nepal.
