Sincona sale 69, lot 827

This specimen was lot 827 in Sincona sale 69 (Zürich, May 2021), where it sold for 750 CHF (about US$996 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"NEPAL. Birendra Bir Bikram, 1972-2001. 1/4 Asarfi 2047 VS (1990). Save the Children. Nur 3'000 Exemplare geprägt. (kingdom of Nepal, Birendra Bir Bikram, 1972-2001, quarter asarfi of 1990, to save the children. Only 3'000 pieces struck. NGC PF70 ULTRA CAMEO.)"

This NCLT is the more urgently needed as the poverty stricken kingdom (now republic) of Nepal is a major exporter of child slaves and sex workers to the rest of South Asia.

Recorded mintage: 3,000.

Specification: 11.66 g, 0.900 fine gold, 0.3374 troy oz AGW.
