The first specimen was lot 4410 in Sincona sale 4 (Zürich, October 2011) where it sold for 1,600 CHF (about US$2,128 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Nassau, Herzogtum Friedrich August, 1803-1816. Konventionstaler 1815, Ehrenbreitstein. Kopf des Herzogs nach rechts. Rv. Gekröntes Wappen auf einem Lorbeer- und Palmzweig. Min. just. Fast FDC. Ex Auktion MM 3/2001, Lot 398. Ex Auktion SBV 1/1994, Lot 1435. (Duchy of Nassau, Frederick August, 1803-16, Convention thaler of 1815, Ehrenbreitstein mint. Obverse: head of duke facing right; reverse: crowned arms. Faint adjustment marks, nice Uncirculated.)."

The second specimen was lot 24039 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $2,115. The catalog description[2] noted, "Nassau-Usingen. Friedrich August Taler 1815-CT, MS64 NGC, a choice original example of this elusive Taler with full mint bloom and appealing silvery-gray patina. The features are boldly struck on both sides and the surfaces are free of adjustment marks. Very scarce in mint state and this coin displays instant eye appeal." This rare type was struck 1810-15. The coinage ended when Nassau was annexed by Prussia in 1866.
