This specimen was lot 24803 in Heritage sale 3032 (Chicago, April 2014), where it sold for $822.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Nassau-Usingen. Friderich August Taler (Convention) 1812-L, MS61 PCGS. A fairly rare type with soft, medium gray patina and a few darkly toned marks on the face of the bust. Overall, a rather lustrous piece with plentiful detail." This rare type was struck 1810-15. The coinage ended when Nassau was annexed by Prussia in 1866. Davenport divides the type into Dav-738 and Dav-739 based on a revision to the reverse in 1814.
