This specimen was lot 20623 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Nassau-Weilburg. Taler, 1813-CT. Friedrich Wilhelm II. NGC MS-61. Lightly toned, fully lustrous and free of hairlines. One small planchet defect on the rim at 6 o'clock. Quite attractive and exceptional for this issue. Frie[d]rich Wilhelm II was the last ruler of his principality. His son Wilhelm became duke of the unified duchy of Nassau, which survived until its annexation by Prussia in 1866." This is the slightly more common of the two dates, 1813 and 1815. It is the last issue from this state.
