This specimen was lot 71346 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, February 2020), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "MONTENEGRO. 20 Para, 1906. PCGS MS-63 Gold Shield. A well-struck and lustrous coin, largely free of toning." In 1906, officials in Montenegro had struck one para (KM 1), two pare (KM 2), ten para (KM 3), twenty para (shown here) for the young nation. Other denominations were added in 1910-14. Montenegro was incorporated into Yugoslavia in 1918-19. This type was struck 1906 and 1908 and is common.
