This specimen was part of lot 33519 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), which sold for $1,080. The catalog description[1] noted, "Five-Piece Certified Lot of gold Estados Unidos Peso Multiples, includes ...2-1/2 Pesos 1919 MS62 NGC, KM 463; ...A lovely assortment of silky Mexican gold issues with four of the five pieces commemorating Miguel Hidalgo (the hero of the Mexican War of Independence) and another 4 of the five having been struck just a few years after the Mexican Revolution." This type was struck at the Mexico City mint 1916-20, 1944-48 and restruck in 1945. The last branch mints, Zacatecas and Culiacan, were closed in 1905 and all official Mexican coinage since has borne the Mexico City mintmark ("M" or "Mo").

Specification: 2.08 g, 0.900 fine gold, .060 troy oz AGW.
